When they got to what is now known as Holladay real estate, they discovered a beautiful, spring fed creek with acres of wildflowers and grasses. Even though most of the expedition returned the the Fort in Salt Lake City, a few men stayed behind and wintered at what they called Spring Creek. The following spring, several families quickly came to settle the Holladay area.
