The Deer Valley Resort has been named the #1 ski resort in North America for the 3rd time in 2007. Located in Park City, the luxurious Deer Valley Resort offers great dining, wonderful services and meticulous mountain grooming so its visitors can enjoy the fine Utah skiing. Snowboarders may not be allowed at Deer Valley, but skiers are always welcome. Limiting ticket sales to 6500 allows the resort to keep crowds to a minimum, reducing wait times in lift lines and making for much happier skiers.
Deer Valley opened in the winter of 1981 and quickly rose to the top of the ski resort list thanks to its policy of treating its customers as "guests", as in a hotel, which was unprecedented at the time. Like hotels, Deer Valley offers their guests valet service to carry their gear for them from guests' cars to the ski slopes. They also offer a complimentary overnight ski check, tissues for guests in lift lines, free shuttles from the parking lot, pagers for parents with kids in the state-licensed Children's Center for quick contact anytime and a smartly-uniformed staff (from the kitchen to the ski attendants). They were one of the first resorts in the country to do all this.
Deer Valley even hosted the alpine slalom and freestyle aerial and mogul events for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Olympic stadium at Deer Valley holds 10,000 guests in its 12-story facility.
The Visa Freestyle International will be conducted at Deer Valley in February 2008. This event includes dual moguls, aerial displays and a Ski Cross competition, the first World Cup level ever in Northern America. The events are free to the public.
In addition to skiing, enjoy scenic rides and hikes, snowmobiling, Tricks 'n Turns (TNT), NASTAR (ski racing), group racing, First Tracks (ski tour), Summit Meadows Adventures (snowmobile tour) and All Season Adventures (guided activities, such as sleigh rides, dog sledding, snow shoeing, hot air balloons and cross country skiing, amongst other things). You will enjoy throwing a party or banquet, heli-skiing, shopping, arts, bars, clubs and so much more at Deer Valley.
Deer Valley is more than just a winter ski resort. It comes alive in the summer as well. Hiking and mountain biking are just a couple of the ways to enjoy Deer Valley in the summer. Deer Valley's Adventure Camp is available to children from 1-12 years old. The Children's Center is the base for kids to learn and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature in Deer Valley.
Also during the summer, Deer Valley plays hosts to several outdoor music events, such as the Park City Jazz Festival, the Deer Valley Music Festival and Ideaspheres Big Stars/Bright Nights.
It is easy to see what makes Deer Valley such a great place to be.
